TIFF VISITOR INCIDENT PROTOCOL
A cornerstone of TIFF’s belief system is that everyone has the right to respect, as well as fair and equitable treatment from others. Our staff and Volunteers are committed to ensuring the best possible experience for all of our attendees. If the safety of our guests, staff, or Volunteers is in question, we will take immediate steps to ensure the matter is addressed.
The Code of Conduct is intended to maintain and protect TIFF’s integrity, its resources, and its organizational processes. While it is expected that good judgment be exercised, this Code of Conduct is intended to supplement circumstances where conflicts may arise.
TIFF VISITOR CODE OF CONDUCT
TIFF values diversity, recognizing that by bringing together people of unique experiences and strengths, they enrich our communities and advance TIFF’s interests. TIFF is committed to providing and maintaining an environment in which all visitors, staff and Volunteers are free from workplace violence, harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination based on their race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin/identity, disability, citizenship, creed, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, family status, receipt of public assistance, record of offences, political affiliation, religion affiliation, language, and/or socio-economic status.
All visitors are responsible for conducting themselves in a manner that promotes a productive and positive environment and exhibits respect for all individuals, including in their dealings with TIFF staff, Volunteers, stakeholders, partners, clients, suppliers or the public. Visitors of TIFF must not discriminate against any stakeholder on any ground that is protected by human rights legislation.
EXAMPLES OF “UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR” ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Physically, verbally, or psychologically aggressive behaviour in person, over the phone, or by email or chat.
Threats of violence, whether oral or written
Intimidating, abusive, or bullying behaviour that causes the recipient to have fear of physical violence
CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATING THE CODE OF CONDUCT
Any individual covered by this Policy who is found to have violated this Policy in respect of harassment, discrimination, workplace violence or retaliation will be subject to immediate and appropriate disciplinary action, including but not limited to warnings, reprimands, suspensions, cancellation of tickets/passes, or bans.
Visitors include: TIFF Members, ticket holders, TIFF board members, industry, guests (talent/filmmakers), press, third party clients, and TIFF partners.
Visitors who break TIFF’s Code of Conduct will be contacted by TIFF Management who will communicate the appropriate consequences for the breach of conduct.
