Press and Media accredited for TIFF 50 will need to pick up their Press Pass or Media Access Pass at the Press Pass Pick Up Desk in the Industry Centre beginning Tuesday, September 2. You must pick up your pass in person and present government-issued photo identification.
Additional information including specific times and locations for pick up will be shared ahead of the Festival.
This personalized badge (name, passport photo, represented media outlet) allows accredited journalists access as outlined by the pass type. It is not transferable and must be visible at all times while in or entering Festival venues, events, and spaces.
Only open to Press Pass holders. Accredited Press Pass holders can access Press & Industry screenings. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and you must have your pass with you to gain entry. The full Press & Industry screenings schedule is available at tiff.net/schedule.
Reviews and social media reactions for World Premieres are embargoed until after a film's first screening, whether public or press/industry, whichever comes first.
Types of Camera Calls:
TIFF red carpets are either:
photocalls – photo pit only, no press line/no interview opportunities
full red carpets – photo pit and press line/potential interview opportunities
How to Apply to Cover/How to Submit Requests:
Access to cover red carpets is not guaranteed due to the limited number of spots available for each event. Requests must be submitted through the daily red carpet access form which is shared with the red carpet media pool.
To be considered for the red carpet media pool, you must indicate on your media accreditation application form that you wish to cover red carpets, and then complete the Red Carpet coverage application form when the Press Office or Media Accreditation team sends it to you.
Due to space constraints on red carpets, we will not be able to approve all requests for red carpet coverage access.
Red carpet opportunities will be available to accredited media in the red carpet media pool and access will be granted at the discretion of TIFF Communications, TIFF Press Office, and TIFF Media Accreditation. The red carpet process is a request-based system, and takes place during the Festival where red carpets are available.
Who Needs a Pass:
For multiple individuals from the same outlet or platform: each individual person requires their own submitted application form. The system requires a unique email address per person. You cannot use the same email address on forms for multiple people.
All video crew members (camera, sound, etc.) will need media accreditation in order to access red carpets. If you anticipate that you may need to assign different crew members across multiple nights, please submit applications for all individuals. TIFF does not issue generic press badges that can be shared.
Dress Code:
The dress code for all accredited media on a red carpet is business casual, with black clothing preferred but not mandatory.
TIFF’s Press Office coordinates interviews with CEO Cameron Bailey and Chief Programming Officer Anita Lee, as well as film programmers, leading up to the Festival. Please send your requests with interview details to proffice@tiff.net.
Press and interview requests for films and series being screened at the Festival should be directed to the PR contact for the film or series. The list of film PR contacts will be emailed to accredited press before the Festival.
TIFF appreciates acknowledgment in media coverage that a film was originally screened, or reviewed, at the Festival.
At the close of the 2025 Festival, you will receive instructions from the Press Office on how to submit your coverage. Please submit your coverage each year before the deadline to ensure you can be considered for potential accreditation the following year as accreditation for 2026 will be based, in part, on receipt of 2025 coverage prior to the deadline.
Please note:
Media accreditation is granted at the sole discretion of TIFF Communications based on numerous factors. TIFF reserves the right to decline, modify, and/or revoke accreditation in its sole discretion, for any reason and at any time. Previous accreditation does not guarantee future accreditation, including for TIFF 2025. Anyone wishing to be accredited for TIFF 2025 must submit an application and must do so regardless of their accreditation history. Please note that media accreditation does not guarantee you access to any particular area, location, venue, event, or individual(s) (including talent). Each individual granted media accreditation shall comply with TIFF’s Code of Conduct (tiff.net/code-of-conduct).
